Duchess Kate never fails to impress. At the London hotel Claridge, in her floor-length creamy white gown by Roland Mouret, she was a sight to behold…At the Friday gala, to show her support for the Olympic Games, the duchess was simply stunning in a teal Jenny Packham gown. She was wearing the same Jimmy Chooheals she wore with the white gown earlier this week…who says a duchess needs 3000 pairs of shoes if she can carry one with utmost regality, paired with a hundred dresses?

The Duchess of Cambridge carried a matching teal clutch and wore her hair in a sophisticated chignon. Having her hair in a braided up ‘do -a move away from her usual loose hairstyle, was a good choice as it gives a view of the intricate-lace back. Gotta love those buttons down the middle. ^_^

At the night of the Met Ball, many sported dark, rich, wine-stained lips. Kate Bosworth in her custom-made Prada mini-dress matched the look with a dark, vampy statement lip.

Jessica Alba , Lana del Rey and Jessica Chastain added to their volume-y waves with dark, sultry lips. In Lana’s case she took the look one step up with matching long, curved, statement nails and gothic cape.

Leighton Meester and Camilla Belle , both wearing sparkly metallic gowns, top their looks with dark, wine-hued lipstick.

British hairdresser dubbed “a rock star, an artist, [and] a craftsman who ‘changed the world with a pair of scissors,’” Vidal Sassoon died at his home in Los Angeles yesterday. Many celebrities, models and people in the industry were saddened by the news…John Barrett of the John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman said that Sassoon “was the creator of sensual hair. This was somebody who changed our industry entirely, not just from the point of view of cutting hair but actually turning it into a business. He was one of the first who had a product line bought out by a major corporation.”

Sassoon single-handedly built an empire with geometrical, angular takes on the classic bob haircut becoming a pioneer in modern hairstyling. Among his famous, cut – influenced by the Bauhaus designs he had studied – was a classic “bob” for fashion designer Mary Quant, Mia Farrow’s short pixie cut for Rosemary’s Baby. 

Vogue creative director Grace Coddington was quoted saying “He changed the way everyone looked at hair.”  Quant on the other hand called him the Chanel of Hair.

He is survived by wife, Ronnie, and children from a previous marriage.

Sofia’s witty and funny antics make me so fond of her that I always look out for her during red carpet events…doesn’t she look stunning in this peplum gray/silver dress? Gotta love that smile too!

Scarlett Johansson wore a Dolce&Gabbana dress with Christian Louboutin heels and accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch and Fred Leighton earrings. I would have loved her with an updo or a low chignon than a loose crown though.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Nina Dobrev was totally mesmerizing in a Donna Karan Atelier gown. The gown has asymmetric shoulder straps, super long train and criss cross open back which she paired with gold peep-toe heels. Even her hair and makeup where flawless!

Carey Mulligan acting as honorary co-chair alongside designer Miuccia Prada and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wore a silver-gold fish-scale like ensemble from Prada, her favorite and trademark.

The 31-year-old mom of two rocked a one-shoulder Michael Kors gown with Roger Vivier‘s “Pilgrim Coeur” clutch and Wilfredo Rosado jewelry. Her vampy lips is one of the many at trend that night.

While celebrities paraded themselves at the Met Gala, Duchess Kate decked out in a floor-length, long-sleeved, creamy white gown by Roland Mouret at the London hotel Claridge’s with Prince William, to attend an exclusive Thirty Club dinner…

It was the thigh-high slit showcasing one very slender leg, unlike Angelina Jolie’s attempt earlier this year, that made the look. She was also wearing Jimmy Choo Vamp heels (costing £450). Kate finished off her evening look with a simple metallic clutch and a pair of drop earrings and topped it all with her simple blow-dried glossy brunette locks.

How bonkers could the weather get? Here I said earlier that  Spring sprung yet the past 2 weeks was like winter again…actually weirder with 0° in the morning and up til 16° at noon. I was already getting ready for summer yet I have to take out the the thick jackets again and prepare a coat in case it goes up until 18°.

So this is a summer getup that will go well for spring too with skin-colored stockings and a coat…whattchatink?

H&M is set to launch its eco-friendly Glamour Conscious Collection which as can be recalled included Michelle Williams black-ivory ensemble at the BAFTA awards. A design inspired by the dress will be available at the local stores. The collection is part of H&M’s goal to incorporate more sustainable fabrics into their apparel, an initiative that started in 2004 and has made buyers conscious of the effort.

The blue tux shorts suit that Amanda Seyfried wore last year at the red carpet will also be in the collection.

Also to be seen is the apple green dress that Kristin Davis wore attending Vanity Fair And Ermenegildo Zegna dinner  which will sell at $69.95. The collection will be available starting April 12 in H&M stores worldwide.

What a surprise, spring sprung and not the usual still cold morning, sunny noon and cold afternoon…we’re getting at least 15°C (lowest at 8° highest at 19°).

To keep up with the mood of the season, here’s one getup I’d like to rock this spring. Although a flowery top is better, I’d have to go for this now. Because spring is very unpredictable, consider the following when dressing up:

1. Choose neutral/earth colors. Go with beige, camel and cream

2. Pick floral prints. To match the season, pick one or two tops with flowery designs.

3. Accessorize with colorful bags. If like me you’d choose a plain top, make your bag catchy by going with red or canar yellow.

4. Layer up with an outerwear such as a think jacket, a long-sleeve bolero or anything that’s easy to remove when the weather gets hotter.

5. Tight jeans or leggings…to keep the coolness at bay and look comfortable at the same time.

6. Wedge ankle boots for a killer look. There’s nothing sweeter than wedges paired with skinny jeans or tight pants.

7. Lastly, choose flowery accessories – earrings, bracelet but don’t overdo it.
